With Bitly, you can create, share and track powerful branded links for every form of communication. Whether you’re a digital marketer, customer service representative, HR manager, or work in an entirely different industry, our tips will help you get the most out of Bitly.

Add a custom domain

Use Bitly to keep your brand front and center in every internal and customer-facing communication. When you add a custom domain, instead of using the default “bit.ly” domain, your links will use a domain tailored to your brand.

Bitly makes it easy to search for, select and set up the perfect custom domain for your brand in minutes. Branded links don’t just look better, they help grow your brand and get around 35% more clicks than unbranded links.

Create a Branded Short Link

Create a link by clicking the orange Create button or by clicking the letter “b” on your keyboard. Select a custom domain to brand your link, or move forward with the default “bit.ly” domain. Paste your long URL into the box highlighted. Your short link will generate automatically. Learn more about branded links.

Customize a link

With Bitly, creating fully customized links is a breeze. Replace the random string of letters and numbers that appear after the forward slash to add a custom call-to-action, like “Start Now.” You can also edit your links later, in the All Links section.

Redirect a link

Accidentally paste in the wrong URL when shortening a link? Instead of creating a brand new link, you can simply correct the original one by editing the destination URL. You can use this feature to correct destination errors, update a link to point to a new destination, or to manually expire old links. Navigate Campaigns

Want to compare the performance of multiple links associated with a single campaign or initiative? Bitly helps simplify this process with Campaigns. Replace complicated spreadsheets and siloed data with a streamlined view of your link metrics.

Campaigns allows you to keep a constant pulse on how your team or business’s programs are performing. You can compare things like how your social media channels are performing against one another, which website optimizations are paying off, which support articles receive the most engagement, or which company communications are getting the most clicks. Learn more.
